FSA reminder on travel insurance policies
Nov 30th, 2009 by editor
FSA or Financial Services Authority reminds insurers and travel agents that there will be new regulations regarding the sale of travel insurance that will come to force in January 2009. The said authority regulates the sale of travel insurance already that is not connected to any travel arrangements, not brought directly from any insurer and not through any insurance broker. Starting next year, travel insurance companies should be able to prove that they are fit, proper and appropriately resourced. Also, they should be sure that staff are really competent to go through the whole business as customers receive sufficient and concise information about the company’s services and products. Travel companies also need to have a system in place that will allow customers to search redress if things are not going smooth.
