Just like any other insurance policies, travel insurance also has exclusions. Some of which are pregnancy related expenses, injury or illness cause by drugs or alcohol, pre-existing medical conditions. Some packages does not include emergency repariation for war or terrorism related emergencies.
Knowing the exclusions of the travel insurance package is as important as knowing their policies. Exclusions may vary from different travel insurance providers. Research online for the policies and exclusions. Compare them with others. Find the right one that would best suit you during your travel. Discuss exclusions with your agents.

A lot of people travel abroad without any travel insurance every year with the mistake of thinking that they are covered by their credit cards. Most credit cards today only offer travel accident insurance while there are a few who also offer but with additional charge. Travel accident insurance actually refers to a very partial personal accident insurance policy which will only pay you if you die as a result of an accident during travel that the card paid for. It is important for cardholders to read the small print so you won’t be confused of travel accident insurance and the real comprehensive travel insurance. A real comprehensive travel insurance policy should be covering you for medical expenses, repatriation cover and cancellation policies.

FSA or Financial Services Authority reminds insurers and travel agents that there will be new regulations regarding the sale of travel insurance that will come to force in January 2009. The said authority regulates the sale of travel insurance already that is not connected to any travel arrangements, not brought directly from any insurer and not through any insurance broker. Starting next year, travel insurance companies should be able to prove that they are fit, proper and appropriately resourced. Also, they should be sure that staff are really competent to go through the whole business as customers receive sufficient and concise information about the company’s services and products. Travel companies also need to have a system in place that will allow customers to search redress if things are not going smooth.

If you got involved in an accident and you need immediate medical aid, insurance might be helpful. You can also use it if due to sickness, you cancel your trip.
Also, if your tour operator gets bankrupt, you need to get your non-refundanble expense be covered and immediately land on your destination country.
You can also use the insurance if you engage in a medical emergency in a foreign country. Moreover, if a terrorist attack is experienced in a city that you plan to visit and because of it, you wanna cancel your trip.
Lastly, if a hurricane obliges you to transfer your resort, hotel or cruise, then, you need a travel insurance.

Travel insurance used to be a non-existent word in travel transactions. Agents are scared to bring the subject up for fear of losing the whole deal.
But now, whether it’s your trip, luggage, possessions or health, it is very essential to have the right kind of travel insurance.
Here’s some reasons why your trip could be ruined if you don’t buy insurance. First, if your flight has been cancelled. Next, if your bags got lost along the way and you have emergency things you need there. If your passport and wallet were snatched, travel insurance can give you emergency cash and a replacement passport.

Contrary to what others are told by their travel agent, it is not required by law to carry travel insurance. But if you are holidaying on a package deal, your agent or operator will probably try to sell you their own travel insurance for your own safety. Although this is convenient, it is one of the most expensive coverage options that you can get. Travelers are given an option to arrange travel insurance separately instead of paying bulk of money through a travel agent. Consumers have found great choices when it comes to purchasing travel insurance – from the help of big financial service providers to high street providers. All we need to do is check with your other insurance providers to see if they offer travel cover that focuses on other types of insurance, like of travel insurance policies as well.

If you’re a frequent traveler, you know that holiday insurance is remarkably cheap these days. Multiple trip or annual cover for a family cost a little over thousands. So don’t you think it’s unreasonable for making an an excuse for anyone to leave the country without it? Delayed flights or cancellations, lost baggage, and theft can ruin your holiday plans. And the worse is, if you or any of your family members becomes ill or injured during a trip? Ensure fewer worries by taking out a travel insurance policy. Today’s travel insurance is very affordable and the alternative of travelling without coverage could cause unneeded hassles. The last thing you want to think about on vacation is how to enjoy the beach, while wining and dining at the most expensive and chic restaurant in town.

The increase in travel has been accompanied by a 1.4% rise in growth for the travel insurance market. Thank you to the cheapest airfare available yearly.  Reasons for the increase in travel include more people travelling to see family and friends abroad and also the simple fact that some of us are not refreshed by just one holiday a year. Survey shows that many of us will take more than one holiday a year and 11% of us will take an incredible 5 or more breaks in a year.  Annual travel insurance does make a lot of sense. The majority of annual travel insurance deals will cover you for an unlimited number of trips. It may also prove to be a better choice if you only plan to take two trips in a year as the policy may still work out cheaper than two single trip policies. Not having to think about travel insurance is another big benefit of getting an annual policy. Once you have got it you don’t have to worry about travel insurance until the following year. Â
